What this is
CutMyBill Medical gives general consumer information about checking, questioning and negotiating medical bills, with price benchmarks from public government files and letters and scripts you can use. It is free. It is not medical, legal or financial advice, and it is not a law firm, a patient advocate acting for you, or a debt settlement service.
You decide and you act
You choose what to ask for and what to accept. Calls and letters are made by you, as yourself. CutMyBill Medical does not contact any hospital, insurer or collector, speak for you, or move any money.
Benchmarks are not what you owe
Medicare rates and insurer ranges are shown so you have a fair reference point in a conversation. They do not determine what any provider may charge or what you owe. A charge above a benchmark does not mean a provider has done anything wrong. Figures are national or state level estimates, a hospital's actual Medicare payment differs by location, and the published studies behind the insurer ranges are averages with wide variation.
Laws and deadlines
CutMyBill Medical describes federal rules in general terms and only as of the date shown on each page. It does not cover state law in this version. Whether a rule applies to your bill is decided by your plan, the provider, regulators or a court. Deadlines are estimates from the dates you give. Confirm them with the provider, the No Surprises Help Desk, or a lawyer or legal aid office.
No guarantee
Providers have discretion and often say no. Nothing here promises a reduction, an approval or an outcome.

CutMyBill Medical is not affiliated with, endorsed by or paid by any hospital, insurer, lender, collector or government agency. Dollar For, the CMS help desk and other resources are named only because they are useful.
Your AI assistant

CutMyBill Medical is provided as is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, CutMyBill Medical is not liable for losses arising from use of the service.
