CutMyBill Medical never sees your bill, your medical records, your insurance statements or your income. It works from categories and numbers your assistant sends it.
What the connector receives
A procedure category or a plain label such as "CT scan", optional five character procedure codes, amounts, dates, a two letter state, your insurance status, and yes or no facts such as whether the care was an emergency. The tools reject other fields, and reject anything that looks like an email address, a date of birth, an account, member or card number, or a diagnosis code. Your assistant reads your documents on its side, under its own privacy policy. CutMyBill Medical is not a health care provider or a health plan and does not receive records from either.
What is stored
- Your list, if your assistant saves one: a label for each bill, amounts, dates, a status and payment plan terms, under a random key. Only a scrambled form (hash) of the key is stored, so the list cannot be opened from the database without the key. No name, email address, account number, diagnosis or bill text is stored.
- Daily counts of how often each tool is used. Counts only, with no IP addresses.
The price checks, error checks and guides store nothing. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes network data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and block abuse. There are no analytics scripts, advertising trackers or cookies.
Your private list link
The link is the key, and it works like a password. There is no login, so anyone who has the link can see the list. Do not post or forward it. The key is 192 bits of randomness, so it cannot be guessed. The page is not indexed by search engines, is never cached and sends no referrer. If the link is ever shared by mistake, the page has a button that replaces it and switches the old one off at once. Your assistant can do the same.
Deleting
Ask your assistant to delete your CutMyBill Medical list, or use the delete button on your private list page. Deletion is immediate and permanent. A list that goes 24 months without an update is deleted automatically, which also covers a lost key.
What CutMyBill Medical does not do
It does not sell, share or advertise against your list. It takes no payment or commission from any hospital, insurer, lender or collector, and no share of what you save.
